THE QUICK INTRODUCTION
What’s it all about?
A card reward is not automatically an improvement in Slay the Spire. Adding something useful now can make an important card harder to draw later, so a run depends as much on declining rewards as collecting them. Combat gives you enemy intentions to work with, but limited energy prevents you from answering every threat at once.
The route between battles is another part of the plan. A demanding encounter can offer a valuable reward while leaving too little health for the next stretch. Relics, events and different characters complicate any fixed recipe. This is a good choice when you want to stop and calculate, although losing a run means starting a fresh climb rather than continuing from that fight.
