Battlefield 6 Joins Xbox Game Pass October 13: Plans & How to Play

Battlefield 6 arrives on Xbox Game Pass alongside Season 5. Here's which plans include the game, where it's playable and how to get started.

Battlefield 6 arrives on Xbox Game Pass on October 13, 2026, giving eligible subscribers access to EA’s military shooter without purchasing a separate copy. Microsoft confirmed the addition in its October 7 Game Pass announcement, naming Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and cloud gaming as supported ways to play.

There’s an important restriction: Battlefield 6 is included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, not every subscription tier. Anyone currently paying for Game Pass Premium or Essential will need to choose an eligible plan to access the game through the subscription.

The timing is particularly relevant because Battlefield 6’s Season 5: Siege of Vegas also begins on October 13, introducing new maps, weapons, and activities.

Battlefield 6 Xbox Game Pass Release Date Confirmed

Microsoft announced Battlefield 6’s Game Pass arrival on October 7, 2026, as part of its October subscription lineup.

The distinction between the original game release and its Game Pass debut matters here. Electronic Arts released Battlefield 6 on October 10, 2025, making the shooter available across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC. Its October 2026 addition is a new subscription-access option, not a fresh game launch.

Which Xbox Game Pass Plans Include Battlefield 6?

Subscription choice is the detail worth checking before spending money.

Game Pass EssentialNoNot included in the announced lineup

Xbox Series X|S users need an active Game Pass Ultimate membership to access Battlefield 6 through Microsoft’s subscription service. It provides access to the game alongside online console multiplayer and the EA Play benefits bundled with Ultimate.

PC players have another choice. PC Game Pass includes Battlefield 6 without requiring the more expensive Ultimate subscription. Someone who plays exclusively on a Windows gaming computer may find that the more sensible option.

Cloud gaming access is also part of Microsoft’s announcement, although streaming depends on device support, regional availability, and the applicable subscription.

One detail can easily cause confusion: PC Game Pass does not give someone a console licence to download Battlefield 6 on Xbox. Its access is intended for PC.

How to Download and Play Battlefield 6 Through Game Pass

The process depends on where you intend to play.

On Xbox Series X or Series S

Sign in to the Xbox account with an active Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

On your Xbox, navigate to the Microsoft Store or Game Pass library and search for Battlefield 6. If your subscription includes the game, you’ll see an option to install it directly on your console.

Once downloaded and updated, launch the game. You may be prompted to sign in to or connect an EA account.

Ultimate already includes online console multiplayer, so subscribers do not need a separate multiplayer membership for Battlefield 6.

On Windows PC

PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate members can access the PC version through the Xbox app.

Install or open the Xbox app on Windows, sign in to the Microsoft account associated with your subscription, and find Battlefield 6 in the library.

EA’s account documentation explains that EA Play access through Game Pass on Windows uses the EA app. If prompted, install it and link your EA account to the appropriate Xbox account.

Using the correct accounts is important, particularly for anyone who previously played EA titles through a separate subscription or storefront.

Through Xbox Cloud Gaming

Microsoft also lists Battlefield 6 for cloud access.

Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can look for the game through Xbox Cloud Gaming on a supported device in an eligible region.

Streaming offers a practical alternative for someone who doesn’t want to download the game locally, although connection quality, device compatibility, and cloud service availability will affect the experience.

What Does EA Play Add to the Subscription?

EA Play is included with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, bringing additional benefits beyond access to selected EA games.

Microsoft specifically mentions the EA Play Deployment Pack, the Season 5 EA Play Pack, and recurring seasonal rewards for Battlefield 6.

Eligible subscribers can also receive a 10% discount on qualifying EA digital purchases, subject to the usual conditions.

EA Play should not be confused with EA Play Pro, which is a separate PC subscription sold by Electronic Arts. Game Pass does not automatically include EA Play Pro.

Nor does downloading Battlefield 6 through Game Pass mean permanently owning it. Subscription access depends on maintaining an eligible membership and the title remaining available through the service.

Battlefield 6 Arrives Alongside Season 5: Siege of Vegas

The Game Pass addition lines up with a substantial content update.

Electronic Arts confirmed on October 9 that Season 5 begins October 13, taking Battlefield 6 into Las Vegas and the surrounding Nevada desert.

Season 5 kicks off with two additional multiplayer battlegrounds, giving players new environments to explore and fight across.

Vegas Strip focuses on urban combat across casino interiors, hotels, streets, and other dense environments where infantry and vehicles can collide.

Area 51 offers a different setting, mixing open desert combat with underground facilities and tighter interior encounters.

The update also introduces four weapons: the Mk 24 Assault Rifle, RSPR Submachine Gun, Z84M Light Machine Gun, and ELR-40 Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle.

Battlefield REDSEC receives Rapid Royale, a faster battle royale experience designed around smaller matches and frequent engagements. REDSEC is a separate free-to-play offering, so its availability should not be mistaken for free access to the complete Battlefield 6 game.

EA has additional Season 5 updates scheduled, including Casino Heist on November 10 and Frozen Aces on December 8. The latter is planned to introduce features such as Platoons and a Server Browser.

For new Game Pass subscribers, the significance is straightforward: they are arriving at a point when Battlefield 6 is receiving new locations and gameplay options, rather than entering a largely unchanged game catalogue.

Is Battlefield 6 Free With Xbox Game Pass?

Battlefield 6 does not require a separate game purchase for subscribers using an eligible plan while it remains in the catalogue.

That is different from being permanently free. Once a Game Pass membership expires, access to subscription games ends unless the player owns another qualifying licence.

Players who prefer to own Battlefield 6 independently can still purchase it through supported storefronts.

EA has also announced a separate Battlefield 6 Full Game Trial running from October 15 to 19, 2026, subject to platform conditions. That limited-time promotion should not be confused with the ongoing Game Pass catalogue addition.

What Should Players Check Next?

Microsoft has confirmed Battlefield 6’s October 13 addition, the supported platforms, and its two eligible Game Pass plans. The main remaining practical question is when the title becomes selectable for each subscriber as the rollout reaches their device or region.

Xbox console players should check their Ultimate membership, while PC users should make sure their Xbox and EA accounts are correctly connected.

For anyone who has wanted to try Battlefield 6 but hesitated over buying the full game, its arrival on Game Pass provides another way to evaluate the campaign, multiplayer, and newly launched Season 5 content before deciding whether ownership is worthwhile.
