THE QUICK INTRODUCTION
What’s it all about?
Quilts and Cats of Calico has a gentle appearance and a demanding placement puzzle underneath. Each fabric tile affects nearby patterns, colour groups and the requirements of cats you hope to attract. A space that would solve one objective may be exactly where another combination needs to go.
That competition for room gives the quilting its bite. There is satisfaction in recognising a tile that serves two purposes, but also in accepting that a board cannot satisfy every ambition. Solo play, a story campaign and multiplayer provide different contexts for the same core decisions. I would recommend it to players who want a thoughtful tabletop puzzle without a confrontational theme.
