THE QUICK INTRODUCTION

What’s it all about?

Sekiro makes a duel a contest of composure. You play a shinobi protecting his young lord, using a katana, a grappling hook and prosthetic tools to cross a war-torn fantasy Japan. Deflecting a strike can open the way to victory; retreating at every threat can give an opponent room to recover.

That emphasis makes it a particular kind of action game. Character progression offers new options, but it cannot replace learning an enemy’s timing. I would point patient players toward it, especially those who enjoy revisiting a difficult encounter until the exchange begins to make sense. Stealth also gives you a useful way to reduce the odds before a fight.
