What’s it all about?
Wasteland 3 gives a squad of Rangers a mission in a region where help rarely arrives without conditions. Exploration and dialogue can decide which conflicts occur, while turn-based fights turn positioning, weapon ranges and specialist skills into practical problems. A party member’s non-combat expertise can be as valuable as another gun.
That is the strongest reason to plan a squad rather than several isolated characters. Covering useful skills lets you respond to more of the world’s opportunities, but choices can still close doors. Its violent humour and harsh situations suit players comfortable with an adult post-apocalyptic setting. Cooperation is available, though the campaign also works as a single-player squad RPG.
