Calculations run locally in your browser. This tool does not upload your inputs. Shared links contain the calculator settings you choose to share; Steam IDs are excluded.

How to use it

Choose the dimension containing your coordinates. Enter X and Z for locations A and B, including negative values, then calculate. Copy or share the route for your server group.

How it works

Overworld to Nether divides X and Z by eight; Nether to Overworld multiplies them by eight. Block suggestions use floor, including for negative values. Distance is sqrt((Bx-Ax)^2 + (Bz-Az)^2). Example: Overworld X=800, Z=-400 maps to Nether X=100, Z=-50.

Limitations

Y is not scaled. Choose a safe height yourself. These are coordinate targets, not guaranteed portal links: existing portals, vertical distance, terrain, world borders, edition and server modifications affect placement and linking. Distances ignore terrain and portal construction time.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to negative coordinates?

The exact conversion preserves the sign; a target of -0.125 lies in block -1, using floor.

Does the planner inspect my world?

No. It calculates from your entered coordinates.

Will the suggested portals link automatically?

Not necessarily. Check nearby portals and test both travel directions in your world.
