Controller & Stick Drift Tester

Connect a USB or Bluetooth controller, then press a button to let your browser detect it. Inspect its inputs below or measure how far the sticks move while resting. The test reports what your browser receives; it cannot see movement already removed by controller firmware.

Connect a controller and press any button. For drift testing, leave both sticks untouched on a flat surface.

How to use it

Connect your controller and press a button. Select it below, move each stick and press each button. For drift testing, place the controller on a flat surface and leave both sticks untouched for four seconds.

How it works

For standard-mapped gamepads, axes 0/1 represent the left stick and 2/3 the right. Radial offset is sqrt(X² + Y²). A four-second sample reports average X/Y, average radial offset, the 95th percentile and maximum. The suggested starting deadzone is the maximum plus one percentage point, capped at 100%.

Limitations

This is not a hardware health score. Firmware deadzones, drivers, browser support and game deadzone shapes affect the result. Unmapped controllers show raw inputs without guessing stick assignments. Keep the tab visible throughout a drift test.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my controller missing?

Use HTTPS, connect by USB or Bluetooth, then press a controller button. Some browsers and embedded pages restrict gamepad access. Try opening the full tool directly.

Does this repair drift?

No. It measures the inputs exposed by your browser. A game deadzone may mask small drift, but this test cannot repair hardware.
